This textured handmade ceramic cup is crafted from stoneware clay in a studio pottery process. The cup is inspired by Synevyr — a deep mountain lake located in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains. When looking inside the cup, the layered glaze creates a visual depth that draws attention inward, similar to the calm, deep surface of water. The interior glaze changes with light and angle, making the cup visually expressive and pleasant to use.
The outer surface is fully hand-textured by an artist-ceramist. This author texture reflects the natural landscape of the Carpathians, with uneven, tactile forms that resemble mountain relief. The contrast between the textured exterior and the smooth glazed interior creates a balanced and grounded ceramic object that feels natural in the hand.
Use
With a capacity of 180 ml, the cup is suitable for coffee, cappuccino, americano, as well as small portions of tea or other warm drinks. It can be used daily and also works well as a thoughtful gift for special occasions.
