This handmade ceramic yunomi tumbler is created by Ukrainian ceramic artist Andrii Tyrsa. The cup is formed entirely by hand from natural clay, without molds or mechanical tools. Its compact form and balanced proportions make it comfortable to hold and well suited for everyday use.

Surface & texture

The exterior features a deeply textured surface created using an original author’s texturing technique. The layered surface recalls natural patterns found in leaves, bark, and weathered earth. Warm brown, ochre, and mineral tones interact with the texture, creating depth and a strong tactile presence. This approach reflects a wabi-sabi aesthetic, where irregularity and material character are essential.

Use

With a 160 ml capacity and a handleless tumbler form, this yunomi is ideal for espresso, coffee, tea, or matcha. Its small scale encourages slow, attentive drinking and fits naturally into daily rituals. As a one-of-a-kind handmade object, it also works beautifully as a thoughtful ceramic gift.

Materials & making

The cup is made from high-fired stoneware and finished with a glazed interior for comfortable everyday use. The exterior remains textured and expressive, preserving the raw qualities of the clay surface. All materials and glazes used are food-safe.
