This handmade ceramic yunomi cup is created by Ukrainian ceramic artist Andrii Tyrsa. The form is built entirely by hand from natural stoneware clay, without molds or mechanical tools. A small foot and rounded proportions give the cup a balanced, grounded feel and make it comfortable to hold during everyday use.
Surface & technique
The INSPIRATION yunomi is defined by its expressive, sculpted surface. The exterior is shaped by hand using elements of the kurinuki technique, with carved marks and natural irregularities that reveal the character of the clay. The surface feels tactile and organic, while the glazed interior provides a smooth contrast for drinking.
Use
With a 200 ml capacity, this yunomi cup is suitable for tea, coffee, or matcha. The footed form slightly elevates the cup from the table, and the textured surface enhances the sensory experience in the hands. As a one-of-a-kind handmade object, it also makes a thoughtful ceramic gift.
Materials & making
The cup is made from high-fired stoneware and finished with food-safe glazes. High-temperature firing ensures durability while preserving the raw, earthy qualities of the textured surface. Each stage of making is done by hand, resulting in subtle variations that are part of the design.
One of a kind
Each yunomi cup is individually crafted and finished. Differences in texture, form, and color are intentional and inherent to the handmade process. The exact cup shown in the photographs is the one you will receive.
